I urge interested parties to respectfully lobby the International Olympic Committee executive committee to review the propriety of the ISAF Executive Committee and the events leading up to and subsequent to the contested Estoril decision. Doing so will keep the heat on ISAF to unscrew their mess themselves, appropriate to the satisfaction of the dissenting MNA reps.

The threat of IOC intervention/review of the ISAF EC actions carries substantial risk that the ISAF EC will appear (at the least) foolish and inefficient, or worse disingenuous and manipulative.

It is now reasonable to 'leverage up' and persist to make the IOC aware of the mess of the ISAF. If the ISAF EC does not address this quickly, the International sailing MNA's may want to collectively consider whether ISAF EC represents the interests of the world status of the Youth Class boats and is working to preserve a vision of the future of Olympic Yachting.

Thanks Simon, I knew I'd seen the info somewhere. To answer my own question; GRE, NED and NZL all initially voted against the multihull (and two British voters, but not the official GBR rep). But my understanding is that whilst the RYA (GBR) keen to get the women's skiff to replace the keelboat, they remain ambivalent to the multihull event. So there is still no guarantee they would vote to for the multi if there was a re-vote.

So that makes submissions from every one of the five 'Olympic Continents' (Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Australisia). Surely the ISAF will need to re-consider now. Out of interest though, how did those countries listed vote the first time around?

Just received an email from Carolijn Brouwer, who has just finished the Hobie Tiger Worlds in Cape Town.

She writes: "Andy, just wanted to let you know that I have heard that Belgium and Tanzania have also put in a submission showing their support for Multihull. And Botswana has written a supporting letter."

So that brings submissions that we know about, up to 15 nations in total.

Any more for any more?

As a resident of the US, I am not at all surprised the Chuck Leighton, the ExDir for US Ailing hasn't done a damn thing on this issue. Or Chuck Cook either, given that he was the architect of this whole fiasco.

Alot of us here in the US applaud the efforts everyone else is putting into making this situation right. We hope that alot of you beat the snot out of Chuck and Chuck.
